Innovation For Equity (IFE) has honored Dr. Phillip G. Eaglin, the Founder and CEO of Changing Expectations, with the 2026 Advancing Equity Award at the HBCU EdTech Summit & Career Fair, held at the Morehouse School of Medicine. This award recognizes and highlights leaders whose work is driving systemic change and expanding access for Black learners.
Dr. Eaglin was recognized for his leadership in advancing equitable pathways across STEM, computer science, and artificial intelligence education. Through Changing Expectations, he has developed programs that position Black students not only as users of emerging AI technologies but also as ethical designers and decision-makers. His work spans K–16 education, educator development, and community-based AI learning initiatives. “I am honored to receive the 2026 Advancing Equity Award from Innovation For Equity,” said Dr. Eaglin.

Dr. Eaglin’s work also includes AI literacy initiatives for Black families and partnerships with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), supporting both student learning and faculty capacity in emerging technologies. His leadership as Co-Chair of the 2025 HBCU AI Conference further reflects his commitment to strengthening HBCU engagement in AI education, research, and workforce development.
Changing Expectations is a nonprofit organization based in Austin, Texas, focused on expanding equitable access to STEM, computer science, and artificial intelligence education. Through partnerships with schools, HBCUs, and community organizations, the organization develops programs that center on inclusion, agency, and real-world application.
